Be a mum, be brave!!

2. Tú eres quién mejor conoce a tu bebe

A year and some months ago the little helper was born and for celebrating my mummy aniversary I had the idea about this post. I was thinking specially about my pregnant friends but also about all the champion mummies, who fight every single day.

I'm not any example, it's the opposite I have lots of things for improving but here is my little support for this wonderful and vulnerable moment.

Tips I would have liked to know after the labour work:

1. Be ready for lots of advices, you don't ask for them but it doesn't matter you'll receive them.

Be ready, you and your partner, you are a team and both of you are going to receive them. Specially you, a bomb of advices explotes on the mummies since day one.

Growing your lithe one will become a public topic of conversation and everybody will have an opinion of it. Yes, maybe even the postman has something to tell you hahaha. Your annoying neighbour will fill you of advices and the typical competitor mummy, who is always comparing her child with your until you lose your temper. My child is more…
Well done for you, should I give a medal for it?!

Maybe "It's not your business starts being your favorite sentence", but don't lose your energy in it. Keep your distance. I used to enter in all the discussion but I've learnt it's not worthy. Like Madagascar pinguins, wave and smile, that's the key.

Oh thanks for your advice, it's gonna be in the list of things that I care a s

2. You are who better knows your baby.

You have carried in your beautiful bump during 9months. Are you forgetting it?! You have a special relations what daddies are jealous of. Throught away your insecurities, don't fear and feel your instinct. They will try to tell you how you have to do things, but don't put any attention. Even ones who you love more, your partner, your mother, your sister, your best friend… All my love for them, I must say that they were my best support, but it doesn't mean that you have to do what they say. If you feel you need to do the opposite, listen to your instinc and do it. Sometimes you'll go against everybody but the thing is that you are her/his mummy.

3. Enjoy these magic moments alone with your child.

Breast feeding or bottle one, don't lose the magic between you and your baby, because you can't compare it with anything.

I know, you are so tired that you can sleep even on foot. Sometimes you fall sleep holding your little one, because maybe is your first one baby or your fourth one and you are exhausted of playing with the older ones and you just want to finish feeding him/her as soon as possible. But you know what, these moments are so fast and they escape quickly, so be sure you enjoy them.

4. Ask for help.

You aren't a superwoman. Realising of this was a big step for me. We live far from our families so I get used to survive just with our little team, Mr. Zitos Zitos and I. When I had some help I could enjoy more our little one.

Be a mummy is hard, so hard and asking for help is fine.

5. If your baby cries or is a bite weepy is not your fault.

Reading this sentence, what I wrote in the middle of my post labour time gets me a smile. Now I know that babies have their days. Poor they!! As we do, they have their good and their bad days. And believe me, the world is not gonna crash. You will be a bite more tired but that is. There is no bad thing what last forever.

6. No panic for your bruised body.

Maybe you have had a great labour or your are going to have it. Maybe your recover is so fast and you'll be a like a fresh rose.

But, let's be honest. I don't want to lie to anyone. This just happens on the moovies. I don't want to scare you, some friends just have great labours.

Others like me, we aren't so lucky. Well, yes we are so lucky that we fight like nobody is gonna do it for the biggest thing of the world, giving life.

You're never will be the one you used to be before being a mummy, but your life now is bigger and more valious.

These are the signs of your victory. The most wonderful and extraordinary thing that exists, bringing your child into this world. Your scarfs are the signs of a big love, and you must look at them with love and proud.

7. Be patient, everything passes.

Yes, there is some light at the end of the dark tunnel, even when now you just see the darkness.

As I told you, I'm not gonna lie to you, you will learn to live tired but you are so happy that I don't change my actual life for anything.

Your child will grow and bite by bite everything will pass and you will look again these past times and you will remember just the good things. You and your partner will roar with laughter of these crazy moments without sleeping, of your fears for being parents, of your first and inexperted nappy change moments…

And you'll feel proud of yourself because you had learnt to love with measure.

Necesito una copa o dos o tres… ;)

Maybe you're so tired today and September is still a bite painful so you need a cup, really good one.

I don't mean the alcohol ones, I refer to the ones which are made of delicious food.
Forget your diets just one day, it's no summer anymore and you can spoilt yourself from time to time. Life is complicated so don't complicate yourselves with stupid things.

The idea about the cups is that they have changed. Bowls are not cool anymore, I'm so sorry Ikea, you lost one of your best fans. Well if you prepare something so nice like the pic I'll forgive you. The jar glasses have been used a lot so let's focus on cups.

Cups are more glamorous. If you eat a brownie in them, you feel like a superstar and you don't put weight on you ;)
If the cup is filled of sweets you'll give yourself a nice moment and you'll get the energy for smiling even your boss. Don't make bitter your days, a sweet a day is like the apple, keeps yourself away ;) hahaha
They are so cool for a birthday or for a hen party. So here is your homework: next time you visit my Swede friends don't buy so many bowls and get nice cup for spoilting yourselves.

Loads of kisses

From babies to children, deco ideas

Time flies and it runs away while we don't realise. I don't want to sound like a granny but they grow so fast.
Recently I was speaking with a friend and she told me about her daughter, who's starting sleeping in bed. I felt joy and vertigo at the same time. It looks like yesterday when she was born. I still remember how happy she made me this summer day in Boston, when she called me with the great news...

They grow and they aren't babies anymore. It's time for changing their rooms and transform them a really nice place for playing.
Without losing the style you can leave apart the pastel range and put a touch of colour.

In my opinion, it depends on children and the needs you have. A universe of cars or princesses arrives their rooms or maybe something cute and neutral at the same time (if they are going to share room).

Whatever the case maybe here you have some great ideas.

Not only children, we also grow, change bite by bite, month by month, year by year..
It's terrifying but fascinating at the same time but how lucky we are for having the posibility of change and improvement every day…
